JOSEPH 'JOE' GALVIN

Joe, aka Baba Omi, was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. From Indiana University - Bloomington, he received his bachelor's degree and is currently working on a master's degree in steel pan and percussion. At the university, he studied with David Baker, Steve Houghton, Anthony Cirone, and, in Cuba, Daniel Alfonso Herrera. Joe recently signed an endorsement agreeement with Panyard Inc., steel pan makers, and uses Panyard equipment exclusively. As a freelance musician, he has had the opportunity to play with Orlando Cotto, David Sanchez, Freddy Montes, Eddie Mercado, Baisho Matsumoto, Pat Hernly, and Chris Tanner.
