Lost & Found - Art Through Recycled Objects

Making art from raw and recycled materials is a universal human phenomenon. This exhibit examines how and why people from across the world create art from found media. Many of the musical instruments in this display come from common household items. A large number of them were made by musician/drum maker Anthony 'Tony' Artis. His musical influences range from the music of West Africa to Latin America and the Caribbean. The styles and names of these homemade instruments you see here reflect his diverse interests and travels.
