Jazz Data by Chuck Workman, "Nuvo" entertainment weekly

Last Saturday, I stopped by the Chatterbox and heard bassist Tony Artis' new group ORI. Combining Afro-Cuban rhythms with the steel drums of the Caribbean and performing jazz improvisation over bomba, salsa, son, reggae and montuna rhythms give ORI one of the freshest and most exciting concepts on Indy's jazz scene today. ORI cooked away on standards such as "Invitation" and "Autumn Leaves" and Latin numbers like "Valdez in the Country" with shifting bomba to salsa rhythms. Members of ORI are Tony Artis, bass, Joe Galvin, steel drums, Andre Rosa-Artis, congas, and Raul Padro, drums. ORI is one jazz group that is bringing a new sound to the local jazz scene definitely worth hearing.
